I have enjoyed serving on the Leisure Services Committee for the term of 4 years and the last 2 as Vice-Chairman. We have upgraded and renewed many pieces of equipment and I am very proud of putting the allotments on Johnny Watterson's lane on the agenda and am extremely happy that some are producing vegetables etc already.

For the last 2 years I have served on the Public Works committee dealing with street lighting and refuse collection. This committee also deals with unsightly and derelict property in Douglas and tries to get the landlords to tidy up these properties. Works deals with beach cleaning and recycling.

One of the administrative functions that the Council manages on behalf of itself and the other local authorities is the local government pension scheme, which is an area where I can contribute my accounting and investment experience. I have served on this committee for 4 years and the last 2 as Vice-Chairman.

The twinning committee and the environmental committee have made contributions to Council activities where i have also served.
